Business Administration

Levels 2, 3 and 4 in the National Qualifications Framework

Modules covered

Work in a Business Environment, Communicate Effectively, Manage, Improve or Evaluate Performance in a Business Environment, Risk Assessment and Management

Duration

The minimum duration for completion is at least 12 months for Intermediate level and 18 months for Advanced level, unless prior learning or experience apply and can shorten the minimum time.

Career path

Business Administration is applicable to many industries and jobs, and the career path may differ based on the level of the Apprenticeship you undertake. Popular job roles following completion are Administration and Clerical Assistant, Data Entry roles, Secretary and Office supervision.

Entry requirements

There are generally no entry requirements for the Business Administration Apprenticeships levels 2 and 3, however, English and maths at level 2 will be a mandatory requirement for those wanting to complete the Higher (level 4) Apprenticeship. Employers may also sometimes impose their own requirements in line with their recruitment process. All applicants will complete an initial assessment with us to ensure they are placed at the right level of the Apprenticeship.

Customer Services

Levels 2 and 3 in the National Qualifications Framework

Modules Covered

A Customer Services Apprenticeship will enable you to enhance your people skills, learn to communicate in different ways according to customer needs. You’ll be expected to demonstrate reliability and learn how to approach problems and find solutions.

Duration

The minimum duration for this course is at least 12 months (and 18 months for Advanced Apprenticeship), with prior learning and experience counting towards reducing the duration.

Career Path

Graduates of Customer Services Apprenticeships have gone to pursue careers in Customer Service/Liaison, Relationship Management covering all levels from Trainee and Assistants to Co-ordinators.

Entry requirements

There are generally no entry requirements for the Customer Service apprenticeship; however, employers may sometimes impose their own in line with their recruitment process. All applicants will complete initial assessments to ensure they are placed at the right level of the Apprenticeship

Employment Related Services

Level 3 in the National Qualifications Framework

This apprenticeship has been developed to support those work within the employability and skills sector, including welfare-to-work, recruitment agencies and pre-employment service providers to help people seeking employment.

Modules

Understanding the Employment Related Services Sector, Assisting clients with advice and guidance, Planning and Preparing learning & development activities, Sustaining an Employment Outcome, Managing Personal Case Load and more.

Duration

The minimum duration for this Advanced apprenticeship course is 18 months.

Career path

Examples of roles secured following an apprenticeship in Employment Related Services include: Job Coach, Tutor, Employer Engagement, and Customer Liaison.

Entry requirements

There is generally no minimum entry of previous experience required for this qualification. People already working in the sector will qualify as long as they do not hold a degree and work a maximum of 30 hours a week.

Food and Beverage

Level 2 in the National Qualifications Framework

Hospitality is an exciting industry to choose as a career, as part of the wider leisure, travel and tourism sector. The industry comprises some of the biggest employers and it is estimated that 855,000 staff will be recruited by 2017 to replace those who leave or retire.

Modules covered

The modules are tailored according to the specific apprenticeship role and focus on both technical skills, such as bartending/waiting, as well as soft skills, such as communication, language, friendliness.

Duration

The minimum duration for this course is 12 months, with prior learning and experience counting towards reducing the duration.

Career Path

With a Food and Beverage/Catering apprenticeship on hand, one thing you’re not going to lack is job options and opportunities. Depending on the level of the apprenticeship you are completing, you will be able to consider jobs as Waiter/Waitress, including Silver Service or Front of House Manager and Hotel Supervisor.

Entry requirements

There is generally no minimum entry of previous experience required for this qualification.

Hospitality

Level 3 in the National Qualifications Framework

Modules covered

Food and drink preparation, Customer service skills, Safety and hygiene

Duration

The minimum duration for this Advanced course is 18 months, with prior learning and experience counting towards reducing the duration.

Career Path

Depending on the level of apprenticeship you are undertaking, examples of job roles include Bartender, Kitchen staff or Bar Team Leader and Supervisor.

Management

Level 3 (Advanced) in the National Qualifications Framework

Modules covered

Planning/Allocating/Monitoring team work, Managing conflict, Project Management, Budget Management, Customer Services Management.

Duration

The minimum duration for completion of a Management Apprenticeship is 18 months. Prior learning or experience can count towards reducing the minimum duration.

Career path

Common roles include roles working as first line managers, section managers, assistant managers, senior supervisors.

Manufacturing Operations

Level 2 in the National Qualifications Framework

Modules

Learning modules for this qualification combine practical skills and training carried out on-site with topics including Health and Safety, Assembly, and Plant and Machine Operation.

Duration

The minimum duration for completion of a Manufacturing Apprenticeship is 12 months. Prior learning or experience can count towards reducing the minimum duration.

Career path

Job roles associated with this Apprenticeship include Production line Operative, Charge hand, or Line Supervisor.

Retail

Levels 2 and 3 in the National Qualifications Framework

The retail industry employs 14% of total number of apprentices. There has never been a better time to work in retail as the economic downturn has pushed employers to facilitate training opportunities for employees in order to drive the future of the sector as a whole.

Understanding customer service in the retail sector, Understanding the selling process, Health and safety in the retail workplace, Work effectively and support other in organisation, Organise and monitor storage and stock

Duration

The minimum duration for this course is 12 months (and 18 months for Advanced Apprenticeship), with prior learning and experience counting towards reducing the duration.

Career path

Depending on the level of the Apprenticeship you are undertaking, popular job roles include Sales Assistant/Associate, Beauty Consultant or Team Leader.

Team Leading

Level 2 in the National Qualifications Framework

Modules

Managing Workload, Leading a team, Working in a team

Duration

The minimum course duration is 12 months.

Career path

Whilst it is acknowledged that team leaders work across sectors, it is more difficult to identify job titles as these will vary from company to company. Some example job titles include First Line Manager, Team Co-ordinator.

There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship. All applicants will complete initial assessments with us to ensure they are placed at the right level of the apprenticeship.

Warehousing and Storage

Levels 2 and 3 in the National Qualifications Framework
The aim is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of those working in logistics.

Modules

The modules delivered throughout a Warehousing & Storage Apprenticeship rely on attaining practical skills and intensive training such as fork-lift operations, tracking stock and managing storage.

Duration

The minimum duration for completion of a Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship is 12 months (18 months for Advanced level). Prior learning or experience can count towards reducing the minimum duration.

Career path

Many of our Warehousing and Storage apprentices go on to pursue jobs as Packers, Warehouse Operatives, Hall Supervisors, Forklift operators and Team Leaders.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship. However, given the job specification, candidates are expected to be 19 or over.
