‘Having a job is one of the most important factors in helping someone leaving prison to begin to lead a normal life and desist from committing further offences.’

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully passed the initial stage in the competition to provide employment positions at the newly built HMP Berwyn.

We want to hear from employers interested in offering employment positions within the prison and who share HMP Berwyn’s vision of becoming an exemplar model for rehabilitation and resettlement.

By partnering with us, you will be helping prisoners to gain skills that will help them to break the cycle of reoffending. We will support you to develop your business in a disciplined and structured way that provides prisoners with experience of an employment-like environment. Currently, the type of work being delivered in prisons includes call centre, printing, textiles, woodwork, engineering and assembling and packing. Could your business also benefit from working in prisons?

PeoplePlus is an established public services provider, working in ten prisons across the East of England to deliver training and vocational skills. Our work continues outside prisons, running the Community Rehabilitation Company in Warwickshire and West Mercia, supporting low and medium risk offenders to lead productive, meaningful, lawful lives.

HMP Berwyn in Wrexham, Wales is a Category C prison holding adult male offenders. Due to open in 2017, it will be a training and resettlement prison where the focus will be on the education, training and resettlement of offenders.
