Support and direct payments to live independently
We support 10,000 people across England and Wales each year to retain their independence.
Our independent living services team works with people who have a disability or health condition to ensure they have access to the money they’re entitled to and help them control their own care.
We provide you and your loved ones with everything you need – from accessing benefits and direct payments to managing personal health budgets and contingency planning.
We’re not a care provider, so we can look at things independently and work with you to make sure you have all the advice, guidance and support you need to make the right choices.
Our experienced team are on hand to work together with you and your family to co-produce an outcome focused plan. We encourage people to think of innovative solutions, from using assistive technology to employing your own staff team.
We home in on what is important to you and what you want to achieve. Our trained advisers work in full partnership with you and any family, circle of support or professionals you wish to be involved in the process. Our advisers guide you through every stage of the plan, using pictures, case studies and social stories to demonstrate different ways we’ve helped people in similar situations.
Once everyone is happy with the plan, all costs are clearly outlined and put within your allocated budget or funding. We then work on your behalf to help you make appropriate purchases and set up your ongoing support package.
