In October PeoplePlus received an interim visit from Ofsted, the results of which have been published today. As well as retaining our ‘Good’ grade, the report reflects the very important positive impact we had on learners during the Covid-19 pandemic. The report highlighted the changes we had accelerated in our training offer – increasing online learning and the use of pop-up delivery locations across the UK, noting the investment in technology and collaborative working tools that had facilitated this.
We were also commended on the training offered to people who needed to change career because of Covid-related unemployment. The report also specifically praised the rigour of our safety assurance measures and the wellbeing support we offer for learners and colleagues in these difficult times. Stating:
“Leaders discussed how they were working with their partners to provide training during the pandemic. They developed training for adults made redundant during this time. Staff have changed their teaching to reflect the changes in learners’ starting points. For example, they have provided careers education, information, advice and guidance for learners who had been working in highly skilled roles within the travel industry. These learners have accessed training to re-enter the job market in roles such as working with large employers in food and distribution.”
Group Managing Director Simon Rouse comments that ‘it reflects the excellent work that colleagues right across the organisation did during the pandemic’.
