PeoplePlus first Restart provider to find job for participant in Wales
We’re proud to have been the first provider in Wales since the extension of the Restart Scheme contract to find a participant employment!
When the participant arrived at our Restart office in Pontypridd she had an interview lined up but really wanted some advice and guidance on how to do well. This gave the opportunity to give some interview advice, including what to do and not to do, as well as best practices to follow during an interview. Her Employment Advisor, Tasha, went on to find out that the role the participant applied for was part of a bigger plan as she intends to go on to university in September to complete higher education while working as a catering assistant for the NHS in her local hospital, if she was successful. Her end goal was to become a bank nurse for the NHS.
Tasha wanted to do everything she could to help her to be successful. She was able to offer support with:
- A better off calculation – a calculation to show the participant that she was going to be financially better off when she was employed.
- Funding for a DBS check. This would allow her to access additional areas for placements etc allowing her to continue with career progression.
- Travel expenses to ensure transport to work would not affect overall income and her ability to attend.
- Support to complete a cover letter and review/update CV.
Tasha said “It was great to hear that following advice and support given the interview was a success and this participant secured employment so early into her Restart journey. She is now being supported by our In Work Support team but aware she is also able to contact me for further support at any time.”
