Celebration Event in Scotland
This morning we held a fantastic celebratory event in Glasgow. A full room made up of our partners, employers, participants, and Scottish Government, heard from Arlene Callan, the Director of Scotland about the various successes we have had over the years as well as the extension to the Fair Start Scotland contract.
Mark Laing, Head Of Engagement, also spoke about how the Fair Start Scotland contract has managed to reach unemployed people across the Highlands and Islands and successfully place them into sustainable employment.
Linda Fisher, Head of Operations, touched on how successful the Fair Start Scotland contract has been and how PeoplePlus is on track to achieve 2,500 job outcomes in 2023.
Guests also heard from Amanda Brogan, Partnerships and Development Manager, about The Power of Engagement – Changing 1 life at a time, and how PeoplePlus have engaged with under represented groups, who are often furthest from the labour market, to support them back into employment.
Further to this they heard from guest speakers such as,
Development Worker Garnethill from the Multicultural Centre, Vivien Opiolka
Representatives from Men Matter, Mens Mental Health Charity
4 Participants who over the years have had their lives changed by PeoplePlus Scotland
With quotes such as;
“If it wasn't for PeoplePlus I probably wouldn't be here” from a Fair Start Scotland participant
And
“PeoplePlus really take the time to sit down and listen. We need people who can connect with our guys” from Men Matters Charity
The uplifting event was rounded off by Kenny Boyle, PeoplePlus Managing Director who thanked everyone for coming.
