Christmas comes early for the Restart Scheme participants in Torfaen!

Christmas came early to the Torfaen office as the team welcomed local employer 'Festive' for a fantastic recruitment event – despite it only being summer time!
After working closely with Festive in the weeks leading up to the event, Employment Relationship Manager Leanne pre-screened candidates, gathered CVs and confirmed participant availability, ensuring everything was organised and ready for interview day.
To make the employer feel at home, the Torfaen team transformed the office with Christmas decorations and even dressed in festive hats and clothing. The effort certainly paid off, with Festive commenting on how much they loved the festive atmosphere and how smoothly the entire day was run.
The event was a huge success, with 16 participants attending interviews. Festive were impressed with the quality of candidates and are now considering a high number of them for roles within their shop department. They will be updating the team soon with the final number of job offers.
The success of the day was made possible by the fantastic teamwork shown across the Torfaen office, with everyone playing their part in supporting both the employer and participants to create a welcoming and professional recruitment experience.
The positive feedback didn’t stop there! Festive have already confirmed they will be returning to the Torfaen office later in August to recruit for additional vacancies and have also asked to repeat the event again next year.
Even better, candidates who weren’t quite the right fit for the retail roles haven’t been forgotten. Festive have recommended that several participants be referred to a local recruitment agency that supplies staff to their warehouse operation, creating even more employment opportunities.
