Designing a Greener Future: Kodie’s Sustainability Success

PeoplePlus is proud to showcase the achievements of Kodie, a participant from Bargoed on the JGW+ programme, who recently played a key role in a sustainability initiative with Sacyr UK & Ireland.
As part of the project, Kodie was invited to design a resource and recycling container to be used on-site, helping to promote improved environmental practices. This was more than a design task, it was an opportunity to apply creative thinking, practical skills, and an understanding of environmental messaging within a workplace setting.
Kodie approached the challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism, delivering a design that was not only visually striking, but also reflected Sacyr’s values around sustainability and community engagement. The final concept stood out for its clear messaging, accessible layout, and strong visual appeal, all aimed at encouraging effective recycling both on-site and within the local community.
This project highlights the value of collaboration between employers and programmes like JGW+. By offering real, meaningful opportunities, PeoplePlus and Sacyr are helping to bridge the gap between training and employment, while supporting a more sustainable future.
