🏆 Gloucestershire Carers Hub Recognised at the Carers UK Awards
Gloucestershire Carers Hub Celebrates National Recognition at the Carers UK Awards
We were proud to attend the Carers UK Awards as finalists for the prestigious Outstanding Carer Service Award.
The awards brought together organisations and individuals from across the country to celebrate excellence in supporting unpaid carers. For PeoplePlus's Gloucestershire Carers Hub, being shortlisted was a significant achievement and recognition of the dedication, compassion and commitment shown by our team, volunteers and partners who work tirelessly to support carers across Gloucestershire.
Every day, unpaid carers make an extraordinary difference to the lives of family members and friends. We are privileged to support thousands of carers across the county through information, advice, wellbeing support, training, activities and opportunities to connect with others who understand the realities of caring.
Being shortlisted for a national award was not only recognition of our service but also an opportunity to highlight the vital contribution unpaid carers make within our communities. Their resilience, strength and determination continue to inspire everything we do.
While we did not take home the award on the night, attending the event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the wider carers' community and learn from other organisations making a positive difference across the UK.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this achievement, including our dedicated staff team, volunteers, partners and, most importantly, the carers who place their trust in us every day.
This recognition reinforces our commitment to ensuring unpaid carers across Gloucestershire feel recognised, valued and supported throughout their caring journey. We look forward to continuing to build on this work and making an even greater impact in the years ahead.
Lisa Walker, Regional Manager at Gloucestershire Carers Hub said:
"A proud and humbling evening at the Carers UK Awards 2026 for Gloucestershire Carers Hub last night, shortlisted for the Outstanding Carers Service Award. Being surrounded by so many dedicated individuals and organisations was incredibly inspiring. Hearing the stories of the shortlisted nominees highlighted the extraordinary work happening across the UK.
While we weren't the winners on the night, I see the shortlisting itself as a significant achievement. It demonstrates that we in Gloucestershire are making a real difference and delivering services that are recognised nationally. What I have taken away most, however, is a renewed sense of ambition. The conversations, connections, and ideas shared throughout the evening have left me buzzing with ideas for how we can continue to change and adapt to strengthen support for carers.
I truly look forward to building on connections made and exploring how we can work together across the UK to raise awareness of the impact of caring and create even better support for those who need it. Huge congratulations to all the nominees and winners"
Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and thank you to Carers UK for hosting such an inspiring event celebrating the incredible difference being made for unpaid carers nationwide.
