Kyran’s Fresh Start with Lidl

When Kyran joined the Restart Scheme on 18th February 2025, he was determined to make the most of the opportunity and he wasted no time. Just one day later, he began his first Restart Scheme training course, showing a real commitment to turning things around.
Although he had a CV, it needed some refinement. During an early one-to-one appointment, Kyran worked closely with his Employment Adviser, Alex, to strengthen it. The final result? A tailored CV that helped him secure a role at Lidl in Newton Aycliffe as a Warehouse Operative.
Despite having no prior work or interview experience, Kyran didn’t let that hold him back. He recently completed Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at Sunderland College and had just moved back to Darlington ready for a new beginning.
During his first meeting, Kyran was offered a place on our four-week Yellow Pathway course. He attended every session and was a valued contributor to group discussions. His positive attitude and willingness to engage stood out.
We offered support with uniform costs, but Lidl generously covered this for him. With both his brother and his sister’s boyfriend working at Lidl, Kyran will be well supported as he begins his new role.
Looking ahead, Kyran is excited to start earning. He plans to use his first pay to buy designer clothes and begin driving lessons. Ambitiously, he’s also committed to saving £700 each month towards his pension - a fantastic mindset for someone just starting out in the world of work.
Alex shared: “Kyran was a pleasure to work with and always took on board any suggestions I made.”
Well done, Kyran, we wish you every success in your new role and beyond!
