Matrix Reaccreditation
Matrix is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG) and helps providers to improve their services by benchmarking against best practice.
As part of our assessment our Restart, Skills and Justice areas were assessed across England and Wales on the levels of IAG we are providing to our customers, which includes the quality of information we are giving about jobs, courses, personal development and appropriate signposting to referral partners.
The Assessors found a wealth of evidence showing that IAG was contributing to good performance against our targets. For example, in prisons they commended our improvements to IAG processes which included improved induction and the initial assessment processes which had resulted in an improvement in engagement rate moving towards to the 95% target. In Restart most of our areas are above target in relation to sustainable employment outcomes, and in Skills, we are maintaining a high success rate at 91% which is well above the national average.
During the assessment, 40 of our colleagues, 4 partners and 55 customers, including those in prison were interviewed. One participant on our Restart programme commented –
“I can’t think of anything they could improve on. They cover all areas, and then some, my advisor has been brilliant, and helped me back into work in three months”.
Whilst another learner in skills said: “Thanks to PeoplePlus I have actually done something - and I’m more motivated now, when I came to sign up there were a lot of safety measures in place – that gave a good impression. Everything was explained to me. They are very flexible, will help with anything”.
The assessment picked up on some particular strengths including; effective communication from leadership, placing the customer at the heart of everything we do, strong relationships with partners and the commitment to colleague development and training.
Group Managing Director Kenny Boyle commented – “This is another great result for PeoplePlus and I’m very pleased to see many of the positive changes we’ve put in place have been recognised and praised by the Assessors. I’m particularly proud that our colleagues were championed for putting their customers at the heart of everything we do - truly embodying our ‘Customer first’ trademark"
