Men's Self Employment Networking Event

We recently held a men’s networking event at Blackfriar’s Bruntwood in Manchester. It was for EnterprisingYou participants and anyone else who wanted to join. EnterprisingYou is our self employment programme that offers people who have their own business additional support and guidance.
The event included a talk with guest speaker Michael Hague who has recently relaunched his initiative WhatMENSay, this covers the power of coaching and how this can help people deal with present and future challenges. Michael also talked about the pressures that come with having your own business and how this can affect your mental health, along with tips on how to manage this.
Simon, an EnterprisingYou Business coach also made a speech about the practical steps you can take to look after your health and where you can get support within the local community.
Once the event had finished, attendees were able to connect with each other and ask the guest speakers any questions they may have had.
Here are some quotes from those who joined us at the event:
“Overall, I enjoyed the event – I think it’s a great idea to encourage men to be able to discuss issues around the mental strain that running a business can bring, and the venue was great.” Ian
“I enjoyed the men's mental health morning a lot and would like to see more of them in the future, along with different perspectives in the presentations.” Sam
“The Men's Networking event was informative and invaluable. It was good to meet like-minded guys as it gave a more relaxed insight on the issues men are faced with.” Mohammed
