IIP Finalist for Diversity & Inclusion
PeoplePlus has been shortlisted for the Investors in People Award for Diversity & Inclusion, which recognises organisations that listen to the world around them and approach diversity and inclusion head on.
Our submission set out how both shape the way we work, in the decisions we make about our own workforce and in the work we do with employers across the UK to open up recruitment to people the labour market overlooks.
At PeoplePlus nearly 45% of our colleagues are aged 50 or over, against around a third of the UK workforce nationally, and 23% were unemployed immediately before they joined us. Disabled colleagues stay with us for an average of 5.2 years, effectively the same as colleagues who are not disabled, at a time when disabled workers nationally are around 1.5 times more likely to fall out of work. Beyond our own workforce, we founded the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group, and the Social Recruitment Covenant, which we launched in Parliament in 2024. Over to 600 employers have now signed the Covenant, together employing around one in twenty of the UK workforce.
Winners will be announced at the Investors in People Awards on 18th November - good luck to all the finalists!
