Education in Prison - This could be you
Earn £1,000 by joining our prison education team, or by referring a friend who does
PeoplePlus delivers education in prisons across England and Scotland, and we’re looking for more people to join our teams. If you already work in a prison, or know someone who’d be good at this, there are two ways to earn £1,000.
Already work in a prison?
If you currently work in another part of the prison and move into one of our education roles, we’ll pay you £1,000*.
Know someone who’d be good at this?
Refer a friend to one of our roles and, we’ll pay you £1,000*.
Is this right for you?
You don’t need a formal teaching qualification for many of our roles. We’re looking for people who are:
- calm under pressure
- compassionate and respectful
- looking for a role where they can make a real difference
You’ll get full training when you join, plus ongoing development through our Training Academy. If you already work in a prison, you’ll bring a strong understanding of the environment with you, which is a real advantage in education.

*How to claim your £1,000
Moving into education yourself: apply for any of the roles above and tell us on your application that you currently work in the prison and you've seen the 'Teach with us' incentive.
Referring a friend: ask your friend to apply and to give your name and the prison you work at on their application.
The £1,000 is paid in two installments - £500 on start and £500 on completion of 3 months probation.
