BuildPath: Construction and Infrastructure Jobs Event

share September 03, 2026Posted by: Sarah

Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) member, United Utilities, is welcoming candidates from the Social Recruitment Framework training provider network to a construction and infrastructure jobs event with their supply chain partners on 25 September 2026.

For people interested in taking up work in the sector in the Northwest, this event is a direct route to businesses hiring now.

Confirmed as attending are major construction and infrastructure employers Flannerys, Kier, Mott MacDonald Bentley and MWH Treatment

United Utilities is hosting the event at their Warrington headquarters at Lingley Mere Business Park.

Why people are attending

BuildPath brings a panel of construction and infrastructure employers into one room, giving candidates opportunities across the Northwest without having to apply blind to a job listing. Attendees get direct contact with the people doing the hiring and the in-work training, so they leave with a clear picture of the real roles on offer, the entry routes into them, and straight answers about the sector from those who recruit into it.

Every candidate who attends is guaranteed an interview on the day, with feedback provided within two weeks, so nobody is left waiting to find out where they stand. Rise Up, a Manchester-based employability charity working with 16 to 30 year old's, is on hand to support candidates with interview technique. The event is delivered in partnership with PeoplePlus, aligned with social recruitment best practice and social value impact delivery.

Why employers are getting involved

Flannerys, Kier, Mott MacDonald Bentley and MWH Treatment are among the employers confirmed for the event. Their representatives include talent and social value colleagues who can support, influence and make final decisions on outcomes. For contractors delivering across Warrington and the North West, it's a direct route to candidates who have already completed construction skills training and are ready for their next step, rather than a job advert competing for attention. Employers have been asked to bring live vacancies open across the whole North West, not just their Warrington sites.

Why United Utilities is hosting

United Utilities is a Silver Member of the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) and a signatory of the Social Recruitment Covenant, and hosting BuildPath at its Warrington headquarters is a direct extension of that commitment. Rather than limiting its social recruitment activity to its own workforce, United Utilities has chosen to open its doors to its construction supply chain, bringing together major contractors for one shared event, at a scale rarely seen in the sector. As a Disability Confident employer, it has made sure the venue is fully accessible, and by hosting everyone under one roof, it gives candidates a single, direct route into the sector rather than separate applications to each business.
