Restart Scheme Success in Stockton

When Tessa Micallef, our PeoplePlus trainer, first met Jody she was a little shy and unsure of what she wanted to do work wise. However, Tessa had a good chat to her and they talked through what sort of job would suit her best.

Following Jody’s first training session Tessa noticed she had already started to come out of herself and was more confident.

As the weeks progressed Jody attended 5 training sessions. She was always on time, enthusiastic and came with a big smile. During these sessions she covered interview skills, how to improve and rewrite her CV, how to complete application forms, as well as a session on “first days at work”. Jody found each session really useful.

She was keen to get back into employment and so her Employment Advisor put her forward for an interview in a toy shop. Tessa gave Jody a prep talk before she went in and Jody came out smiling, saying she felt very confident about the way it went. She was offered a job the following week.

When I first came to the Restart Scheme at PeoplePlus I was very nervous, I was unsure that the scheme was for me and whether I would get a job.

However, without the help of my Employment Advisor Natalie Dawson and my Skills Trainer Tessa Micallef I would not have been successful in finding employment. I can now continue to grow in confidence and skills.”
