In aid of International Women's day female participants enjoyed pastries and tea whilst listening to guest speakers who covered a range of subjects from balancing motherhood with a career, working in a male dominated environment, getting the right work life balance and more. They also heard from the charity Threshold DAS who support victims of domestic violence locally. Participants were invited to hear what they had to say either online or in the Ammanfrod office in Wales.

When Wendy attended her initial appointment in November 2021, she was very down, she was still coming to terms with the loss of her partner, and she was struggling with her self-confidence. Over time, and with patience and commitment, she completed development sessions with the North East Restart team at PeoplePlus. Within the sessions Wendy’s caring and compassionate nature shone through, and she helped several other participants with tasks they were struggling to complete.

When Rosin was first referred to our Restart office in Cwmbran, she had massive confidence and anxiety issues. This resulted in her struggling with communicating well and completing interviews. Rosin was volunteering on a Tuesday with citizens advice, and she was also a home carer for her Nan on a Wednesday. Rosin also had concerns around balancing her social life and a full time job. Rosin had only ever worked in temporary jobs and had never had the luck of getting a full-time, permanent job since graduating in May 2019.
