Vicky was referred to the PeoplePlus Sunderland office for the Restart Scheme on 22nd November 2024 after being out of work for just over a year. She was dedicated to securing employment in the security industry, and so, she completed both an SIA and CCTV license course and applied for roles in security, retail, and customer service. Unfortunately though, she was struggling to get responses from employers.

For years, I just thought I was being a daughter. A busy one, admittedly, but still, just a daughter. Mum's always been fiercely independent, but she started having falls. Each one was a jolt, some involving a rush to the hospital, and then the recovery time after each one. It wasn't until colleagues and people around me told me that I realised, I was a Carer.
