Recently, a lady was passing our premises in Port Talbot and called in to ask if we could point her in the right direct to the centre of town where she could get some support with preparing for job interviews. This lady had no affiliation with us, but explained to us that both her and her husband ran their own business prior to COVID which they lost during the pandemic and so they have decided to source separate employment. She had been sourcing employment online that she felt suited her qualities and skills and had been asked to attend a job interview however, the lady explained that being in her 50’s and not having been to any job interview for over 35 years, that she needed support.

Nicholas joined PeoplePlus Scotland at the beginning of 2022, He initially had plans to start up his own IT business but was struggling mentally and financially. He was looking for support to help him back into work as he needed to start saving up money for his future career goals.

Developed over recent weeks, learners at HMP Dumfries have launched Threads of Us - a collection of creative work displayed at an exhibition - bringing together work shaped by individual ideas, experiences and perspectives. As one of the pieces in the exhibition puts it: “Like threads in a pattern, each person brings their own ideas and experiences. When we work together, those threads create something stronger.” That idea sits at the centre of the exhibition.
